Melbourne fires, sometimes the aid isnt genuine.

Its funny how, when something bad happens, such as the victorian fires that have occured lately, there appears to be business, utlising the event, for their own advitising gain. Companies such as banks etc all placing adverts saying they are fund raising, "come to the bank and find out how". Im all for the aid, just not for the sake of advertising. Even if they just placed an ad saying "bank x, now taking donation to aid victims of bushfires in victoria. But they dont, they use it to try and change your image of the bank etc. It frustrates me to no end.

Something that coincides with this, is that just about everything in Australia is marketed at women. Even things like mens diodorant. Some people might say, well thats smart marketing. But I think thats irrelevent, because firstly, it gives me the shits, and secondly, thats all that should matter. A typical Australian woman, buys for herself, her family, her husband. They buy the grocerys for the family, they buy the news paper, hell 99% of them get to control what tv channel to watch. Even situations such a business large or small, its always the receptionist that buys everything the business needs. There are such stupid campains that run around, like make up ads "because your worth it". Or magazines that come out weekly and make it seem like its a womans right to sit on their ass and read a magazine. Or chocolate commercials that show a woman doing something stupid, like having to stop their child running out the front door without their lunch, making it seem amazingly difficult, and for doing so they have earnt the right to sit down, read a punch of crap and eat a chocolate bar.

News papers have been structured simmilar to drama television to suck women in, tv has been shaped towards woman, because they are the ones that react to the ads, that are aimed at woman. It is known that woman have more control over what car is purchased for a family, so cars are made to suit woman now. Gone are the days of good engineering, crisp handling.
Now its all front wheel drive bullshit "0h the hazard button is such a nice colour", "oh it looks like the car has eye lashes", "i dont know the difference between a car sold in germany and a car made in germany". These are common thoughts amongst woman. Hell the vw beetle comes with a vase next to the steering wheel. Stupid things like woman not being able to drive manuals properly and most cars being designed to be auto, so manual versions drive like crap with poorly matched gears. Steering is stupidly light and vague. The brake pedals are so damn wide they almost touch the throttle. Abs kicks in when your just trying to drive firmly.

But even the stuff they should design properly to help woman, like features to stop them smashing doors on other cars in car parks, or doors that open a certain way to make it easier to get a child out. Special door handles to stop them scratching the crap out of the paint around where the key goes. A bonnet that doesnt slope off at a stupid angle so they actually know where the front of the car is etc etc. But that stuff would probably cost money, and what they are doing now obviously works.

One more offtopic thing while im off topic, but whats funny is what people consider the most macho car in australia, the big v8 holden commodore, is mainly driven by woman and metrosexuals. Easiest way to find out your driving a womans car, the drivers side sun visor has a mirror :-).

Rudds a Dudd, and so are people who believe in global warming

Uncle Rudd wants to get rid of indecent bulbs in replacement for wound fluro bulbs. As they are
better for the environment. Guess what, they're not, sure incandescent vacuum formed bulbs use more energy,
but energy is made by power stations. Power stations, especially coal, produce pollution. Make a better
god damn power station, his government is the one that wiped nuclear power off the table in government discussions,

Australia is the best country out of ANY in the world to have nuclear power, and we DONT. We have the best space to build it, the best resources in the ground to feed it, and the best space in the ground to store its crap. It is the
best cleanest most efficient energy.

People don't realize, to make a fluro bulb, chemicals have to be produced, for chemical production, there are waste chemicals that go somewhere. When the fluro cracks open on its way to the dump, more chemicals are disposed into the world. They might use less energy, last a bit longer, but the light they make is shit house. They are expensive to produce and are NOT a solution to energy. Which was never a problem.

This comes back to his speil about carbon emissions, carbon emission tax, he wants to tax Australians for the carbon they produce, which is plain silly. Firstly, as some of you might not be aware, carbon is a heavy molecule, it doesnt go into the atmosphere, hell even oxygen cant even go high into the atmosphere. An example is the top of Mt Everest, where oxygen levels are low. What makes you think a heavier molecule can go higher? Secondly, a chap name Dr David Evans (http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,24036736-7583,00.html), who has numerous accolades, a few phds and degrees to his name, USED to work for the Government finding information about this crap. He resigned, no longer works for them, he could do nothing but find information that disproved the carbon theory. Basically in 1997 earth core data analysis found certain things, but only accurate to a few 1000 years. New tests show much more accurate results. Especially the fact that put simply, the temperature of the atmosphere, effects how much carbon can be supported, not the amount of carbon effecting the temperature. He goes on to explain how the higher the carbon level in the atmosphere, the more plants consume, and the greater plant growth is. It goes through cycles. If there are less plants on the earth, they do get cut down which sucks, which means there is less absorbed, and more in the atmosphere. But the plants left, through the process of photo synthesis, absorb more and become bigger and more plentiful. Yeah we produce a fair quantity of carbon, but carbons not the issue, there are many more bigger issues. The greatest being methane from cattle production. Which could quite easily be collected and used from cattle, with some seedy device that goes up their but and separates methane from poo, but it would never happen. Even though livestock cause more damage to the atmospheric environment that anything else. The temperatures recorded for global warming data, were put in places over 50 years ago, towns have crept up to these units and what is known as a phenomenon, whereby a city emits hear in a several kilometer radius effects these readings, but data collected from satellites, three dimensionally mapping the earths temperatures, actually show a decline in temperature world wide by a small amount over a long period, no signs at all of a temperature increase in any country.

The next thing is peoples obsession with electric things. Like solar power, people don't realize that the amount of energy used to create a solar panel, is never recouped in its lifespan. Ie the factor equipment uses more energy to produce them, than they produce. So they are only a solution for people who need power and are unable to get it from another source, not a replacement. Not to mention most decent setups need batteries, which use a lot of energy to produce, and have finite life spans and are in effect very inefficient. Not to mention costly and hard to dispose.

This applies also to hybrid cars, like the Toyota prius. The initial purchase price over say a yaris, is NEVER recouped through fuel savings. They dont even use that much less fuel than a yaris. But the worst part is that the batteries they hold cause a hell of a lot of pollution in the creation, are expensive, and need replacing. Its just not viable, and people who buy them, and their i phones will tell you all these little facts, but in the end, they ARE NOT viable. You ar better off having a tiny car like a polo tsi (turbo supercharger induction) which still goes pretty well and uses basically no fuel. Which can be a renewable source of energy if society put enough effort in.

TV ratings, your giving it to them.

Tv ratings are collected when you watch tv, when I was younger and stupider I thought they collected them buy gathering a hundred or so random people, throwing them in situations and seeing what they watch, but they dont, they can see how much of their content is watched, buy knowing how many receivers are in use. When you watch channel 10, your tv is now a receiver for channel 10 waves.

So every time you leave your tv on neighbours and walk away, its another rating, to make shit house drama like that stay on the air. So do your part, turn the crap off, dont watch stupid shows, just because they are on doesn't mean you h ave to watch them. Get a hobby, do something active, go hang out with friends and make your own stories.

Traveston dam the travesty oh the travesty

NO DAM on every car, my land this, the platypus that, lungfish this, something or other that.

They were never going to build it, they kept your occupied while they built a tube from
sunshine coast to Brisbane, which they screwed up and didn't weld properly and needs redoing,
the concrete trusses they bought, millions upon millions of dollars worth, was the wrong size
and they cant do anything with it now.

The fluoride campaign to get fluoride going, basically another distraction and enabled them
to install equipment to monitor water between sunshine coast and Brisbane. They don't just walk
up the water source with a few sacks and pour it in.

Worked for the government I guess, the water shortage was due to lack of future planning, and a little thing called the el nino effect. Which while we have drought, south America has floods, vice versa, in basic terms currents of warm water flowing around the world. The news, papers, government miraculously forgot about a million year old well documented process. For the sake of selling papers and tv ratings.

The radio still sucks

Apparently MTV killed the radio,

But the radio just sucks,

Where I live, on the Sunshine Coast, the radio stations do the same jive every day. They start off by buying the paper, raising a stupid question, taking calls from people who are obviously thick as two planks, and extends these views to people who dont know any better. You get people at work discussing the radio and agreeing with what they say, about stupid scenarios and situation. The words "calls for harsher penalties" springs up about once every 5
minutes. They separate all this crap with the music they are GIVEN. Yes they don't seek out good music and play it,
they play what they are given, what they are payed to play. People make assumptions like its on the radio it must be
the best song thats out at the moment, no its not, there are millions of musicians world wide making far better music on a daily basis that dont get the recognition the deserve.

I wont even get started on the ads, people think they need the ads to keep the station going, but they have made a profit before the ads are even implemented. They are just bonuses.

At first I just assumed that most of the music they DONT play has swearing or something in it, or something like that, but the crap songs with swearing make it on there two, 19 times a day for 3 months.

Over it, over the radio, there was an awesome local station here that played good music, but their land got bought out by woolworths.

I hate alot of things, including middle aged people

The way I see it, what ever "it" may be, is that middle aged people are the most un educated, most slack working, complaining, over opinionated people in Australia. With a bit of know how in the education world, it is pretty obvious that education in Australia stinks, and it has been getting better at a steady rate, suffice to say 35 years ago, education was pretty darn poor. It was the start of a boom of more marketing, more television, more word of mouth irrelevent irrespective news articles that were swayed in what ever way possible. The people before these years learnt things for themselves, learnt how to learn things. Were taught the basics and lead hard enough lives that they managed to get a good education through their daily lives. I struggle to talk to middle aged people, their views, world perspectives are just so out of wack its not funny. But I would be more than happy to talk to any older person.

Remember how when you were growing up, your grandparents hopefully told you, dont watch the tv, itll rott your brain. Well they learnt from experience, cause their kids have got rotten brains.

The problem too lies in the fact that there are so many little niche markets with everything, that if there are only 5 stupid middle age people who are into something stupid, they will manage to find a cafe and occupy it. Keep their mentality growing, and they have all grown up to be fairly stubborn and have no error in their ways. If one says to you, hows the drought, and you say, yeah and south america has flood at the moment, itll swing round soon, they answer, what are you talking about. You try to explain but theyll argue, but I saw this on the news, I read this in the paper, I had a poor education etc etc. But they wont take what you say and do a little research and add on or change their belief, theyll ignore what you say, your younger, couldnt possibly have an idea about the ways of the world. "Ill just sit down and watch a current affair or today tonight and see how my world perspective pans out".

These are the people making important choices for our country!

anna bligh is smarter than the average australian, and thats why I hate her.

Ill try to keep this short, well short er....

But have you noticed that Bligh has had nothing but poor management for god knows how long,
they have no money, and they have people complaining that they arnt spending any. She needs money, and uses the same technique over and over again and its so damn obvious.

Step 1
Play out a problem to be bigger than it actually is
Step 2
Dont come up with a solution to prevent the problem from occurring,
but make sure money is made from the problem.

This has been done multiple times, here are some examples;

Gambling - Instead of making a system where people can only spend so much time in a pokie room, or limiting the number of pokies, or forcing pokie places to have someone who wanders around and makes sure grandma Harris isnt there for 23 hours. Change the times to a bit later, to keep the oldies and family types out.
None of these things, or anything that even remotely aided the situation was done, instead the tax was increased on the machines. Even if a hotel or pub doesnt make a single cent from a machine, the fact that people are in there buying alcohol etc is enough to justify their existence.

Speeding - If you actually go to the Australian death toll statistics page, released by the government, which is actually behind for some mysterious reason (its not a very mysterious reason), although you can get 2007.

from here - http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/safety/road_fatality_statistics/index.aspx
I recommend the anual summary. (refernce to images from this site, things to note, middle aged drivers are the fastest increasing in deaths, the highspeed vs low speed death rate, the fact that younger drivers are decreasing not increasing like the news papers tell you but are actually the fastest decreasing rate and have been for sometime.)

here is another web page showing the NEGATIVE effect of the speed camera approach
http://www.caradvice.com.au/2852/road-toll-statistics-australia-getting-worse/

Firstly, in 2007, out of every 100,000 Australians, 7.7 people died in a road fatality, from the age of 0 - 100+, this might seem significant, but actually works out to be, 0.0077%. Which is actually a very small figure, its one of the lesser causes of death by a LONG way. Your more likely to die by contracting a disease visting a freind is hostpital, than you are in a road fatality.

Secondly, the rate of deaths has been decreasing at around 5 or 6% fluctuating for some time, which in relation to the 7 or 8% increase in cars on the road is quite good BUT, this is how it effects police, government, and us. Because the death toll is decreasing (although now at a much slower rate in 2008, around 2%) the government can say what they are doing is working, even though they are dececreasing, the decrease if you will.
Because the number of cars on the road increases, and their proximity to each other increases, the death toll increases. Even though statistically death rates are getting better. For this reason police can say they need to do more, and be harsher with penalties and fines.

Where does this leave us?
In a road system that is actually one of the worst of the 1st world countries and is declinging at a rapid rate since the new anti speed campain has been implaced. Because the government didnt try real tactics like better education, better testing for new driver, current drivers having to re sit tests, television specials dedicated to education on safe road driving that goes further than idicating, gaps between cars and speed zones. If they wernt doing it for the money why are the fines there. Why not community service, why not just demerit points. Its obvious that a uni student caught doing walking speed over the speed limit is going to be affected more financially than a marketing exec in his mercedes doing $1.30 in a 100 zone.

It has been proved irrefutibly that the radar equipment is not even close to accurate, hence the reason police have tape recorders on them when they pull you over, to get admittance of guilt. When they ask you why were you speeding and you say sorry officer I didnt realsie, there is your admittance. If you say you wernt and mention your speed that is legal, they have now physical evidence to make you pay your fine, and can thus be aquitted in court.

If you look into those statistics, you will notice such things as, there are less deaths per year in high speed zones 80-1oo than there are in the low speed zones, 0-8okph, the death rate has been steadily decreasing until recently (speed cameras are having a negative effect, making drivers hesitant, bunching up closer to each other and generally forgetting other road rules) but all of a sudden its an epidemic? Facts like police classify more than speed under speeding prefix in road fatalities, such as poor roads, wet roads, failure to judge another vehicles speed and driver error. Even with all these factors falling under speeding, its still over shadowed by drugs and alcohol which clearly make up almost 70% of accidents.

But because this is dragging out ill summarise, something thats not really a problem, exadurated, a proper solution deliberately ignored, money made. People like car enthusiasts who make up the smallest minority of road users are victimised, words like hoons over used, people opinions become falsified with ignorant journalist articles in papers etc. I was actually pulled over by a policeman in my track car (everything is legal and engineer approved) who actually said to me "your the type the news papers are telling us to look for" I was shocked, since when did police officers get their information from a newspaper and not their senior at the station. It is nothing more than sheer bs. But this leads you to wonder, why type of person in society becomes a police officer? They wernt the ones at school with the clean record and the good grades, they were the ones who didnt get into university, couldn't decided what they wanted to do and missed the apprentiship boat, ended up doing a 3 weeks tafe course and sucked straight into the uniform. What makes YOU think that they are trustworthy law enforcers. They might just be doing their job, but you have to remember, they are sworn to uphold the law, at THEIR disgression.

Alcohol -
The problem that was supposed to be alcohol, which ill be the first to admit I dislike the drinking culture Australians posess, but there was supposidly a problem. Binge drinking in youths. Now instead of there being a solution, where only a limited number of standard drinks could be sold to someone under the age of 21, or limiting the amount of alcohol that a company can put in a pre mix, or doing a decent education campain that goes through the science behind the problem as does more than mention that, its bad mkay.

No instead they raised the taxes, knowing full well the sales would be exactly the same, kids would turn from premix to mixers also.

Pools -
A child drowns in a pool, the government jumps onto it, its an epidemic, its happening everywhere, we wont use better education for pool owners, we wont stress the importance of a good fence, we wont fund the councils to have somebody inspect them. Instead a $250-$300 dollar payment must be made annually by pool owners. Where the money goes, who knows, does the pool get checked nup, does it prevent any future occurances, not really.

Why does the government do this -
Well the average Australian is pretty stupid, its not a statement, its science. The government gets a win win situation, people are happy because they think the Government is proactive and fixing problems, people that are in the industry get more attention and respect government for taking notice, and the government gets a nice slice of the pie. How much? Well its estimated that around $150,000 a day is made in speed fines in QLD alone, around 75,000 people in QLD have a pool which works out to be 75,000 x 150 (err on the lesser side to prove a point) = $11250000, which to a government who is struggling financially through poor management is tasty pie indeed.

What can we do? -
Stop buying newspapers, there are very few that actually have real information that arnt swayed towards the government in one way or another. Where I live there is a paper called the Sunshine Coast Daily, I dont even classify it a newspaper, more over a paper magazine, all the middle agers go out and buy it and end up with these wierd contrived world perspectives. Attitudes like if they do the speed limit they are a safe driver. They do nothing more than make monitary gains out of other peoples missery, it is simply imorral. Tv is also significantly bad. Remember when you parents used to say dont watch that it will rot your brain, well now the parents are the ones watching it, and their brains are rotten.
